Dale Head Harvest & 80th Anniversary
Time & Location
About The Event
Sunday 16th September
St. James', Dale Head
Service at 2 pm followed by Jacobs Join at Tosside Community Hall.
On June 30th 1938 the present St. James’ church was consecrated by Bishop Mounsey, the Assistant Bishop of Bradford. This year marks 80 years of its use as a place of worship.
This church was built using much of the stone from the first St. James’ after the construction of Stocks reservoir. Along with the stone, the windows, pews, font and pulpit were also transferred to the new site, being out of the water catchment area.
To mark the occasion we would like to make the Harvest Festival this year a little special. Please join us on Sunday 16th September at St. James’. Starting at 2.00pm with the Harvest service, there will then be a Jacobs Join tea in Tosside Community Hall, where there will be a display about the Church and Dale Head, along with a chance to buy the transcribed registers of the first St. James’ church.
